Teaching Philosophy
Mike's
teaching centers on five main points which are: Grip, Posture,
Aim-Alignment, Pivot-Rotation, and Hinges. All aspects of his instruction
evolve around these five elements. He explains what a true plane in the
golf swing means. He shows the student how posture, the pivot and correct
usage of hinges are related to getting the club shaft and club face on the
proper plane. A player must understand the short game, putting, chipping,
pitching, and bunker shots. He teaches course management, the need
to have properly fitted equipment, and how to deal
with
the mental aspects of
the game of golf.
Students of note include Jodie Mudd, Grant Waite, Frank Nobilo of the PGA Tour and Hiromi Kobayashi of the LPGA Tour.
Mike has also has been a Guest on the Golf Channel's Golf Academy Live Show televised from Orlando, Florida.
